How wonderful it would be if some of the brilliant minds in Bangalore come up with something like this...

Friendly Restaurant Taipei App is designed by Chong Wey Lin from Taiwan. It is aimed at people with disabilities and their family and friends who always find it difficult to find a restaurant that is disabled-friendly.

Friendly Restaurant Taipei App is a mobile application that features information of a restaurant's accessible entry, pathway, friendly service, toilets, charging outlets, WIFI, etc., with detailed on-site photos and booking services in transportation and assistive devices. This smart handy service is highly valued by citizens of Taipei, because it benefits not only persons with disabilities (around 400K), but also those who are pregnant, old, injured, and their friends and families (around 3 million).

This app was made by 230 passionate disabled civil designers who have spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, polio, and those with visual or hearing impairment. Utilizing a survey tool supported by cloud computing, they worked as "Friendly Surveyors", surveyed 2000+ restaurants, and produced this convenient app free for the public. They also shared their inconvenient experiences with restaurant owners and had successfully motivated, consulted and helped 500+ restaurants improve their accessibility and service quality.

What a fabulous civil design solution!
