Her name is Kulsoom B Abdullah.
Born in the USA to Pakistani parents, this computer engineer is a weightlifter. She began lifting while practicing #taekwondo during school. She started competing in Olympic Weightlifting competitions in 2010 and obtained the Crossfit Level I Trainer Course certification the same year. At the international level, she has represented Pakistan at the 2011 World Weightlifting Championships. The first woman from her country to do so. Her second international competition representing Pakistan was the 2012 Asian Weightlifting Championships in South Korea.
Kulsoom competes wearing the #hijab. She writes on her blog: "I want to be able to compete and follow my faith at the same time. My faith and desire to compete in Olympic lifting are not mutually exclusive. I should not be excluded from participating based on dress restrictions of my faith."
She's just another girl who wants to eat, pray, love and play. Wearing the hijab. So what! Let her.
