She was a regular 16-year-old. But then what happened to Elizabeth Charlotte was not something that usually happens to girls her age.
The British teenager had to undergo heart surgery and quit school due to poor health. But that did not stop her from dreaming -- of having her own handbag label - something classic, something minimal and something very 50s.
When she was 19 and had regained her health, she enrolled in a course on setting up business. The future was looking bright. Or so Elizabeth thought.
But fate had other plans and her dreams ground to standstill when she collapsed and had to be rushed to the hospital. She became paralysed. She was diagnosed with PoTs (postural tachycardia syndrome) and ME in 2015. Unable to move her limbs Elizabeth couldn't even produce tears. But she says in her interview to The Telegraph: "But all along I was crying."
At one point she had given up on life. But through the pain, depression and desperation her dream of owning her own label refused to die. Maybe it was this dream that kept her alive.
Her sister's boyfriend, a designer, sketched out Elizabeth's dream bag as per her instructions. She then spent a year breathing life into her dream.
In January 2016, Elizabeth held her first dream bag in her hands. She called it Bloomsbury - it was a sleek and chic bag for everyday essentials. Within a short time Elizabeth's creation was completely sold out.
Looks like once again this 21-year-old's future is looking bright. smile emoticon
