She is 96 years old and she can do a headstand with as much ease as a two -year-old (provided you let your toddler do a headstand )
Nanammal from Coimbatore is probably the oldest yoga practitioner in the world.
She just doesn't do the shavasana or the tree pose. She does complicated yoga postures ranging from the painful peacock to the lotus to the bridge pose.
Yes, she can balance her entire body on her hands. Did we mention she is 96? (...and we are still scraping our open jaws from the floor)
Even today Nanammal practises yoga for an hour everyday. Just like how she did when she was 10 years old.
Nanammal got interested in yoga when she saw some village boys doing it.
Her grandfather and later even her father-in-law taught her the ancient Indian practice. Her husband was a sidha doctor.
She's like the grandma Rambo in her village.
She teaches yoga to around 100 students everyday.
Her two sons and three daughters too are ardent yoga practitioners.
A great-grandmother, she credits yoga for her good health.
She is healthy and can read the small print on your insurance policy without the aid of prescription glasses.
"As far as my body is concerned, it keeps me flexible. I will stiffen up terribly if I didn’t do it,” she says.
She can do more than 50 asanas wearing a sari. And she wears "only saris".
She does yoga before going to bed and in the morning.
She wakes up at 4.30 am.
She eats pulses and cereals and avoids rice and non-vegetarian food.

"I’m inspired to bring yoga into others’ lives along with helping people unearth new talents,” she had earlier said in interview.
What an inspiration she is on this International Yoga Day
