Some are calling it the "reading movie". And some say it is "a truly revolutionary idea" in publishing industry since the mass-market paperback.
#BookShots is the world’s bestselling thriller writer JamesPatterson 's brainchild -- a response to the smartphone gen's reading habits.
Each book under Bookshots will be around 150 pages long and under £2.50. Patterson said in a recent interview, "I have removed all the fat." And that's exactly what BookShots are - slim, concise and action packed stories. A new approach to fiction.
And the hugely successful author (Patterson's annual book-related earnings are in the vicinity of 80 million pound) will be writing, collaborating on or personally curating every title produced.
BookShots will initially comprise thriller and romance titles, with some non-fiction coming later in the publishing schedule.
They will be available in paperbacks and as ebooks. There will also be audio editions.
Penguin India will release 9 titles under Bookshots by James Patterson this month. These are Black &Blue; The Hostage; The Cross Kill; Private Royals; Break Point; Zoo 2; Airport; Heist; Priate Royals. At least 3 titles will be published per month thereafter.
