Richard Branson the quintessential rich man |
Millionaire Steve Siebold spent 26 years interviewing rich people for his book “How Rich People Think.” According to him, wealthy people have different strategies, philosophies, and beliefs. Here are a few enumerated in his book
- Rich people believe being they have the right to be rich if they're willing to create massive value for others (make life easier or better for others).
- Rich people think that the greatest risk in life is not betting on themselves. That’s why they believe the fastest route to becoming rich is by starting a business. The masses almost guarantee themselves a life of financial mediocrity by staying in a job with a modest salary and yearly pay raises.
- Rich believe amassing money has more to do with street smart savvy than your ability to memorize information and excel on exams.
- The rich think that it takes a team to build wealth, and they focus much of their effort on finding the right people to leverage their actions and ideas.
- Rich believe that making money may not be easy, but it is simple. There is no mystery to getting rich, but this limiting belief stops most people from ever trying. The bigger the solution to a problem, the bigger the paycheck. "
- The middle class believes the only way to earn more money is to work more hours. The rich think that big money requires thinking about it in non-linear terms. The rich know that creative thinking is the highest paid skill in the world. Training your mind to find solutions to difficult problems is the real secret to making money.
- The rich believe money is a positive tool that has the power to create freedom and opportunity for themselves and their families. They think it is a critical resource that opens up endless possibilities. Whereas, the middle class demonises it and deny its importance.
- The rich believe that working for the sole purpose of making money is the worst strategy for building wealth. They focus on work that has the most fulfillment potential. Once they find it, they invest their all into their work. Money follows.
